Dr. Maurice Antonio Stinnett
Dr. Maurice A. Stinnett is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of transformative leadership, inclusion, and strategy. With two decades of experience across nonprofit, corporate, and education settings, he is a highly sought after keynote speaker and consultant. Known for his engaging and interactive style, Dr. Stinnett creates environments of authenticity, growth, connection, and excellence.
Originally from Springfield, Ohio, Dr. Stinnett’s career began in community organizing and nonprofits, working with organizations such as Prepare the Future Ohio, Esperanza, and CentroNia to advance equity in education. He later served as Dean of Students at Central State University, a historically Black college and university, and Vice President of University Engagement and DEI at Cleveland State University.
Dr. Stinnett is a leading figure in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space, having served as inaugural Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for BSE Global (owner of Barclays Center and the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets) and inaugural Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Warner Music Group. He specializes in developing DEI strategy that drives equity, business innovation, and growth.
Globally minded, Dr. Stinnett has deep connections and experience working and public speaking in several countries, among them Hong Kong, Italy, and Egypt. He is proud to have served as Chairman for the World Leadership Program, a White House initiative under the Obama administration that sought to spark learning and dialogue between universities in the Middle East and the United States.
Dr. Stinnett founded Liberty Street Consulting in 2015, which specializes in organizational development, crisis management, and executive coaching. Serving clients from a wide range of sectors, Liberty Street continues to provide tailored services that support individuals and organizations to be resilient, strategic, and innovative.
A passionate advocate for community engagement, Dr. Stinnett currently sits on the Board of Directors of Moore Philanthropy. He previously served as Chair of the WMG/BFF Social Justice Fund and as Social Justice Ambassador for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s National Racial Equity Initiative. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Billboard Change Agent Award, Variety’s Champion for Change honor, Rainbow PUSH Coalition’s Jackie Robinson Trailblazer Award, City & State New York’s ‘The Responsible 100’ corporate leaders list, and the President’s Award for Community Service and Activism from NAACP of Springfield, Ohio.
Stinnett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Central State University, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Master of Education and Doctor of Education and Organizational Leadership from Columbia University.
